Vegan Loaded Fries | Crispy french fries, creamy cheese sauce, smokey TVP beef — everything that's loved in one dish!
 
 

Ingredients

 

TVP Beef

 1 cup TVP (textured vegetable protein)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp chili powder
sea salt to taste

Cheese Sauce

2 medium potatoes, boiled
1 carrot, boiled
1/2 cup almond milk
2/3 cup nutritional yeast
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp chili powder
sea salt + black pepper to taste

Fries

4 large russet potatoes, cut into 1/4 inch sticks
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp sea salt

 
 

Instructions

 

1. Begin by soaking the TVP according to package directions. Once the TVP has been rehydrated, heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add in the rehydrated TVP, alongside the smoked paprika, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, and sea salt. Fry until it has browned. Set aside.
3. In a blender, combine all of the cheese sauce ingredients. Set aside.
4. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
5. In a mixing bowl, coat the potatoes with the olive oil and sea salt. Toss to mix.
6. Place them on a lined baking tray and bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
7. Assemble your loaded fries to your liking. I topped these off with salsa, guacamole, black olives, and green onions. Suuuper yummy. Other great topping ideas are jalapeños, black beans, cilantro, and crispy chickpeas; however, get creative with your favs!
