Clear mascara has gotten the rap of being black mascara’s unwelcomed, less desirable cousin. It usually ends up sitting in the back of every girls makeup drawer, patiently awaiting for its moment to shine.
But — not anymore, my friend.
Clear mascara has many different uses and is a perfect add-on to your makeup routine and collection.
Here are the top 5 ways I personally love using it.
1. Brow Gel
My favourite way of using clear mascara is to use it as an eyebrow tamer. Because I naturally have fairly thick eyebrows, I’m not a huge fan of filling them in with tons of colour. Instead, I like to use a light hand and stroke some clear mascara through my brows to give them a polished, clean look.
However, don’t let your eyebrow density be the determining factor of whether or not you should use clear mascara. Even if your eyebrows are thinner and/or you fill them in with an eyebrow makeup product, it’s still always a great idea to groom your brow hairs into place.
2. Mascara Primer
Instead of applying multiple coats of black mascara and risking clumpy lashes, swipe on a clear coat first.
This will prime, extend, and give your eyelashes some extra volume to work with for your black mascara application.
3. Flyaway Tamer
If you have frizzy flyaways or stubborn baby hairs, clear mascara is a perfect little product to carry around with you during the day.
Having a tube of clear mascara tucked away in your purse is so much easier than walking around with a tub of edge control and a toothbrush all day. Plus, it makes touchups such a breeze.
4. Perfect for a No-Makeup Makeup Look
I’ve really been into no-makeup makeup looks recently, so clear mascara has obviously been a must.
Clear mascara is great for those days where you’re just running off to go do some errands or you’re just having a chill day, but you still want to look put together.
It brightens up your eyes, elongates and curls your lashes, and is a perfect addition to a tinted moisturizer, liquid highlighter natural makeup look.
5. Set False Lashes
If you have naturally dark eyelashes and you’re opting for an everyday false lash, clear mascara is a great way of combining your own lashes into the falsies, without having them look clumpy or overdone.
