It’s no secret that highlighters are one of my favourite makeup products ever. They accentuate your features, impart a youthful luminosity, and give dimension to the skin where needed. I always look forward to this step in my makeup routine because it really pulls the look together and adds a touch of je ne sais quois to your overall appearance. So, in typical beauty blogger fashion, I’ve compiled a round up of my tried-and-true must-haves to share with you today.

Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick in “Champagne Flash”: This highlighter is my life, basically. It’s a lightweight, cream formula that imparts a non-glittery, sophisticated glow to the skin. The application of these are precise thanks to the triangular bullet; making it very easy to apply the product onto smaller areas of the face, such as the brow bone and above the lip. Although Champagne Flash is my favourite out of the bunch, there are 4 others to choose from that work with a variety of different skin tones.
Mac Strobe Cream in “Goldlite”: If you’ve been around Nialogique for a while, you’ll know that I use this really often. If I’m in a hurry, only this and some concealer make their way onto my face — It’s just a must for me. My favourite way to wear it though is by mixing it in with my foundation for a golden, lit-from-within glow.
Nars Highlighting Powders in “Ibiza” and “Fort De France”: The Nars powder highlighters are really smooth, buttery, and natural-looking. They don’t enhance texture like some other powder highlighters can sometimes do and they also impart a really pretty sheen to the skin as well. Ibiza is a gorgeous warm gold shade that I love to wear when I want to look extra bronze-y, whereas Fort De France is a gorgeous champagne-y tone that I love reaching for on an everyday basis. If you haven’t tried these yet, you definitely should!
Mac Cream Colour Base in “Pearl”: I use this highlighter when I want my skin to look extra dewy. I add a drop of the Mac Essential Oil into the pan, work it into the product with my finger, and then apply it to the high points of my face for a super luminous finish. I wouldn’t recommend this technique to someone who has an oilier skin type, however if you have normal to dry skin, you’ll love how hydrating and dewy this combo is.
Becca Pressed Highlighter in “Champagne Pop”: Just because I tend to opt for more emollient highlighters on a day-to-day basis, doesn’t mean I’m not a sucker for an extra blinding powder highlight — How can anyone resist? This one is super reflective but doesn’t look overly glittery, thanks to how finely milled the shimmer in it is. If you love the look of a bold, unapologetic gleam, this highlighter will definitely become a staple in your makeup collection, just like it has in mine.
