I love when the cold, gloomy weather of wintertime rolls around because I get to play around with dark, moody colours more often. And although vampy nail polish colours won’t absorb heat the same way dark-coloured clothing does, there’s something to say about bold, statement nails in the midst of frigid temperatures.
Here are my go-to nail polish staples.

Tom Ford Plum Noir: I’m in the school of believing that everyone should own a deep plum nail polish. It suits every skin tone and just screams elegance and sophistication. What I particularly like about this formula is how glass-like and glossy the finish is — It’s stunning!
Essie Bordeaux: Bordeaux is a gorgeous, universally flattering deep red wine shade that has been a staple in my nail collection for a couple of years now. This colour is the perfect combination of both bold and classic; making it an easy shade for any personality type or age group to feel comfortable wearing.
OPI Shh… It’s Top Secret: At first glance (or in gloomy conditions), this nail polish looks black. However, as soon as any gleam of light hits the nails, you’ll be able to see that it’s actually a stunning dark chocolate brown colour. I can pair this rich shade with nearly everything in my winter wardrobe and it always looks chic. Swoon.
