Finding quality skin care products for dry, sensitive skin can be a bit of a nuisance.
At one point, I thought I could just use anything on my skin and it would work. Boy, was I wrong.
It’s important to identify your skin type before investing in any skin care, otherwise you could end up making your skin worse.
For myself, I have very dry, semi-sensitive skin, with a bit of oiliness around my nose and forehead.
Despite my best efforts at drinking lots of water and investing in a humidifier, my skin is just prone to getting red, tight, and dehydrated without a proper skincare routine — especially during the cooler winter months.
Luckily though, we live in a time where there are tons of different skin care brands that do wonders for dry and sensitive skin types.
Peter Thomas Roth is definitely one of them.
Here are 4 of my favourite PTR skin care products.

I’m not exactly sure what happened, but as I got older, I started getting quite a few bumps and enlarged pores on my forehead and cheeks. At first I thought it was my diet, so I tried eliminating different foods. That did help me figure out that I have a cruciferous vegetable intolerance (lol!) but as far as my skin situation, nothing changed. I even tried different cleansers and other skincare products but my skin was still s-t-r-u-g-g-l-i-n-g.
I then came across AHA’s and hallelujah, my skin was reborn.
These swabs are packed with a 20% glycolic acid complex, also know as alpha hydroxy acids.
If you’re not already familiar with AHA’s and you have normal, dry, or sun-damaged skin, this tells me that you are missing out, girl. (Go for BHA’s if you have normal to oily skin as they’re oil soluble!)
AHA’s work on the skin’s surface by chemically exfoliating and separating the bonds which hold on to dull, dead skin. This means that you can say goodbye to any uneven skin tone or texture you have on your face.
I worked my way up to using these swabs by starting with AHA cleansers, but I was still a little hesitant to begin using a glycolic acid peel only because cleansers don’t stay on your face for a long period of time and usually have a much lower percentage of acid in them. So, using a 20% glycolic acid on my face was terrifying.
Not only does my skin like to sporadically be sensitive, but the directions state that you’re supposed to swipe the product all over your face and go on about your day.
Welp. I eventually worked up the courage to try it, and now I’m hooked.
I don’t experience any irregular sensitivity with this product (besides some initial redness) and it makes my skin look brand spankin’ new. I wake up with baby soft, bright, smooth skin — something I haven’t seen on myself since I was a teenager.
I definitely recommend this to anyone who has dry, textured skin — It works miracles.

This 2-in-1 cleanser works like a charm.
It contains some incredible ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, marshmallow root, and coconut oil; all which work in unison to remove makeup and impurities, as well as work to leave your skin silky smooth and hydrated after using it.
It’s fragrance-free, so anyone who has a sensitivity to scents or has sensitive skin in general can use this product as part of their skincare routine.
Certain skincare products can really irritate and burn around my eye area, but this doesn’t do that at all. It’s super gentle and I’m able to use it in both the morning and evening time without any issues with sensitivity.
I’m also a pretty devote makeup wipe user and usually prefer to use a designated makeup remover and then a cleanser, but this works really well to remove all of the makeup from my face. Everything just seems to melt off.
The cleanser itself is a thick cream, however it goes on very lightweight on the skin. A little of it really does go a long way.
Overall, this cleanser really lives up to its name: “water drench”. It’s super hydrating and always leaves my skin feeling super refreshed and glow-y.

Oh my goodness, where do I even start with this product? This mask is everything.
It’s infused with pure 24k gold, colloidal gold, caffeine, peridot, and hyaluronic acid. All of these impeccable ingredients work to brighten, firm, soothe, and hydrate the skin.
It’s definitely on the pricier side but it works so well for me that I really can’t complain. I always say that if you’re going to invest in skincare, focus on masks and moisturizers as they sit on your face longer than cleansers do, so your skin is able to absorb more of the product. And with this robust ingredient list, this should definitely be part of your skincare arsenal.
The texture is very silky and feels really luxurious on the skin. The scent is almost undetectable, so once again, if you’re sensitive to fragrances, you have nothing to worry about with this product.
It has a goopy (for lack of a better word) texture, so it’s absolutely perfect for facial massage. The directions do say to place a generous, non-transparent amount to your skin, however I prefer to apply a thin layer as anyone that knows me knows that I don’t like having the feeling of anything heavy sitting on my skin. (This also helps me save quite a bit of product in the long run!)
This mask is deeply moisturizing and leaves my skin looking softer, more plumped, and glistening. A must-have mask in my opinion.

The texture of this moisturizer is a little strange — it really just feels like a watered down gel upon application, so I was definitely a little skeptical at first.
Usually products that have such a thin consistency like that do nothing for my skin, but this? Wow. It saturated absolutely every dry patch I have on my face.
It’s so hydrating that it really just makes it look like you drank 2 litres of water (thanks to the 30% hyaluronic acid that’s in it!).
This cream absorbs very quickly, so there’s no stickiness or tackiness left on the skin. It’s also fragrance-free and is suitable for all skin types.
If you’re looking for a refreshing moisturizer that’s lightweight and leaves your skin soft, plumped, and hydrated, this is a fantastic cream to look into.
